Default remove tune or not??

ok, heres the rundown; i have a power steering leak coming from the little black plastic thing on the front of my power steering rack. (its shaped like a circle with 4 indents on the top bottom and sides) last time i had it at the dealer the just said it was assembly lube and let it go. but i know its leaking because the fluid was at max then and its just above min. right now.

my question is, should i re-install the factory pcm tune to take it in forpower steering repairs?? it really does not run great with the C&L on there with the factory tune. i dont want them to start digging arround if they see it running bad. i know a guy (service writer) at the dealer pretty well and i'm sure he will hook me up and all, but i'm not sure if the tech will screw me in any way as far as voiding my warranty.

any advise would help tremendously.

so to sum it all up... should i put the factory pcm tune back and leave the CAI on or just take off all the parts all together for power steering repairs??

Take off the CAI and re-tune to stock, d/c battery for I think 10-15 mins, take it in, no worries and no evidence. I'd do this for any work around the car's computer and other under the hood things... They really can't void your whole warranty or anything just because you put something on... When something breaks, I think they have to PROVE that it was that part that was at fault for the problem.

Put it back in the stock condition. Even if they fix this under warranty (since it is unrelated to the tune or filter), but notice the mods, they will make a record of it and it could void future fixes. The record will show up at all dealerships.

+1 go to stock it at all possible, why create a problem that isn't there.

+ 1000. Return everything to stock. Takes an hour - will probably save you a lot of headaches if they decide to make an issue of it.

Yes, return to stock. I would also record your stock strategy. If they were to put an "update" to your program, your car may not start. If this happens, I think you need to get your tunes re-done and downloaded.
