had mine drilled, don't really likethe look of itthough.i from texas and here where allowed to have thefront plate on the dash as lond as the plate is readable are ya'll allowed the same thing in california?
Nope, not allowed that in California. The plate MUST be mounted on the front of your car. My past experiences with other cars I've bought (Hondas) has always been the dealer asking me if I wanted the front plate on. If not, then yes I'd have to sign a waiver. But not this dealer. I guess it really does depend on what dealer you go to.

I've been driving in California for 32 years - I have never owned a car with a front plate installed - never gotten a ticket for it either, even when being written up for other infractions including other fixit tickets.

And my Mustang, purchased in Colorado, has no holes drilled in the front bumper.

I am not the original owner of my car but it has the holes in the front. I am disgusted everytime I look at it. I keep the plate off even though the holes are there, I just figure it looks better with two small holes than a big plate! I am trying to figure out a solution to fill the holes.

I actually noticed your plate holes in SD and was wondering why you drilled them -- I see now that you didn't do it [8D]

I don't have holes in my current bumper but I do have them in the original GT bumper. Before I sell it I am going to use those little plugs you can get at the parts store and paint them body color. I think it will look fine. You should do the same.

I have a ticket pending now for not having it but I'm working on getting my plate on a linear actuator so I don't have to drill it

If you have holes in your fascia and you want to cover themup, go to your local auto parts store and geta coupleof the black plasticpush clips. You know the ones that are used to hold on various plastic parts under the hood, in the trunk, in the wheel wells etc... Get yourself some 1000 grit sand paper and sand the button head smooth. Someclips havea raised line on the button head from the mold. Prime it, paint itwith touch up paint (matching your paint code), then clear coat it. Once it drys, just put them into the ugly holes and viola!Don't rush the paint dry time. Itwill cost youabout $5.00 unless you have to buy touch up paint.

If youdon't want to do it yourself and don't mind spending the money, you can go towww.bumperplugs.com who will charge youabout $25.00 plus shippingfor the exact same thingand they may not have your exact paint code match.

Now, once you get your holes plugged and you want a nice no drill license plate bracket, that you can remove anytime and put back on in a flash, visit www.ccmustangbrackets.com. I got mine thereand it's an awesome piece. Hope this helps.

You're quite lucky. On both of my previous cars, I tried to not have the front license plate on but always got busted. After about the 3rd ticket @ $10 a piece, I basically said screw it and put the plate on. Probably has to do with where you live. In LA, you almost always get busted for it, and especially if you have a modified car.
