Default Front License Plate Mounting

To the ppl out there who bought their s197's in California, did the dealership automatically mount the front license plate frame by drilling into the front bumper without asking you if you wanted it mounted? The dealer I bought my GT premium from automatically did this without asking me if I wanted this done, so now I have two holes in my bumper cover. I know that front license plates are required in California but the dealer should at least ask the customer if they want it mounted or not before putting holes into the bumper right? I'm going to complain about this but I just wanted to see what other California ppl out there have experienced.

Damn, that sucks! At least mine is straight. Still not happy about it tho since its avoidable because there's mounting kits out there that do not require making holes in your bumper.

I took delivery before I got my tags, dealer told me to bring it in and they would install the tags. I knew what they would do (drill the bumper) so I just picked up the tags and told them I would put them on. It's been a month and I'm still driving around with just the rear tag lol.

Who cares? Unless you plan to move to a state with no front tags, the tag is always gonna be there, holes don't hurt anything.

Was about ready to kill the guys when it looked like they were about to put a front plate frame on the car, but thankfully they did not; but I think it really depends on the dealer and the guys prepping the car

10 months so far, and still no fix-it tickets (knock-on-wood). Should look into a retractible one though for when I'm parked...

That's why I'll only deal with experienced car salesmen who know the Mustang. My guy knew the S197 looks like crap with a front plate and made sure I signed a waiver saying that I requested that they NOT install a front plate mount. Has they then drilled holes in the front I could have made them replace the whole front bumper!
Without the waiver you're pretty much up a creak.
There are caps that can cover the holes. Just paint and clear coat them.
