grille removal

RE: grille removal
For me, the order in which tabs I tried to pop first made a huge difference. The first few times I removed the grill by popping the sides off first and then the bottom, but it is wayyyyy easier to get one side poped off and then the bottom from that same side. Once you get one side loose and two tabs from the bottom the grill pretty much snaps right out of the leftover tabs after that. Nowadays I can get my grill off in less than a minute (not counting the radiator cover).

RE: grille removal
Hi
I used a pair of offset needle nose pliers, medium size. Remove rad plastic cover, use pliers on centre tabs of grill retainer and out in two minutes. tried the screwdriver trick and got nowwhere.
It worked for me really easy. Just the correct tool for the job.

RE: grille removal
I don't recall all the specifics, but I do know that it sucked. I also know that I REALLY had to wrench on it a lot harder than I thought I should (or could, without causing damage). A local guy that had already done his helped me out. We put a strip of masking tape down on the paint between the fascia and the OE grill, and went to work. Took like 15 minutes to swap the grills, including swapping the fog/driving light housings..
