It is the best shifter period. With the new ***** out now, all I can say is MGW still reigns supreme on Quality and Service, they need to hook up with Brenspeed.

+1000 MGW rocks. I have mine set to [almost] the shortest throw (11 turns - I bought it before they changed the recommendation from 12 to 10 and am too lazy to crawl back under there, I'll change it when I do the driveshaft), and the shortest height.

My **** used to rotate (not the large bracket piece that holds the two vertical rods together, but the shifter handle/**** itself), to solve this I screwed the **** on as tight as I could, until I started rotating the shaft. Then I loosened the allen bolts, rotated the shaft back to where I wanted it, and retightened, German spec (good-n-tight). It will still rotate a little, but you REALLY have to put some effort into it.

I absolutely love it. My buddy with a 06 GTO just sat in my car last night and I let him run through the gears to check it out, and he was immediately jealous. LOL

It was a little "notchy" at first, but it loosens a little bit. Still requires more effort than stock, but you get used to it quickly. I wouldn't have it any other way.

BTW i must say that the new MGW black ball shifter handle(the new one integrated into the chrome handle) is high class. I was concerned that my Hurst ball would rotate/slip since the ball threads are sorta 'soft' and it looked like it was going to rotate a bit around the shaft but this is not a problem with the new MGW product.

I talked to Gerorge at MGW about this shortly after I installed my MGW shifter. I had it set at the maximum number of turns out. He recoomended 2 changes. 1 - reduce it to 8 turns out, 2 - change the bushing. At the time, he was shipping the shifter with a plastic bushing that was a bit stiff. He recommended that I use the stock bushing. This made a huge difference. Later on, George started shipping the shifter with a new bushing. I believe it was blue, but I never changed it again since the stock bushing was working so well.
