Muffler sound levels tested

Muffler sound levels tested
Has anyone ever seen this article from Anderson Ford Motorsport before?
http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.co.../exhshoot1.htm
The sound difference at idle, stock vs. no mufflers, is said to be 5 decibels. Others like the FRPP Stingers, I think was 4 decibels. It doesn't sound like much, so maybe 4 decibels is really a lot or there is an illusion of being much louder.

RE: Muffler sound levels tested
I checked an occupational health and safety text book I have and a 2 decibel increase is said to be noticeably louder, so the ones that are 4-5 decible louder than stock are two levels of loudness above stock and that's just at idle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think adding 3 decibels = twice as loud, so that's a pretty big difference haha
