Need help. Track rules?
So have any of you had any troubles at the track with Tech?
I have slicks and nitrous. Anyone use a driveshaft loop. My cars lowered so I dont even think they would look.
My nitrous is mounted on the particle board on the back and looks nice but its not to the frame and I dont have a blow down tube. [&:]
just your thoughts or tips or trick?

RE: Need help. Track rules?
Depends on the track.
Some will look at it and say "Okay it's a pretty stock car with a small shot of nos", and let you go.
Others will look at it as a modified vehicle and make you have all the safety equipment...
Generally NHRA tracks are much stiffer than IHRA or any other tracks.

FWIW, there are no "tips or tricks". You need to pass tech, it's there for a reason. I'm sorry for giving you the whole "dad speech" thing, but seriously.. It's not only your safety, but also the safety of the guy in the other lane at the track, and could also be the safety of the spectators.
You'll need a helmet, and with Nitrous, POSSIBLY a flame-retardant jacket. Launching on slicks requires the use of a driveshaft loop, if I'm not mistaken.
Also, if you are a coupe and go sub 11.49 you need a cage.. Verts need one at........ 12.99 maybe? 13.49? I forget.
Also, don't take these rules as GOSPEL. Your best bet would be to call the track and ask for a copy of their tech rules. Or go to the IHRA website.

RE: Need help. Track rules?
If you have slicks or run quicker than 8.13 in the 1/8 even with street tires you need a loop. nitrous has to have a blow down tube unless you have a firewall between the bottle and cockpit. A fire jacket is required when running nitrous and the nitrous bottle has to be securely mounted. I personally have only had problems when I forgot my fire jacket once and I had to remove the nitrous to run
