Default x pipe with stock cats?

would an x pipe with stock cats make any difference in hp? if the cats were removed will the check engine light come on? if the check engine light is on will my car be in limp mode and be slower. i will order the mil eliminator but i have an appointment for the muffler shop to install the x pipe already.

You may gain a few rwhp if you just do a Non-Offroad X-Pipe like the FRPP.
Its not going to be enough you will actually feel it.
You get about 8 rwhp from eliminating the cats. About 2 rwhp from the X.
Exhaust mods for these cars are mostly about sound. The factory system is very good.

The first mod for these cars is usually a Flasher (tuner) and CAI.
If you get aflasher from most tuners it will already have the rear 02's cut off in the program.

PS rear 02's will only turn on the light not put the car in limp mode.

I have the FRPP X-Pipe, it let's you keep the stock Cat's. The Engine seems to Breathe easier with it. Between my JBA's Shorty Headers, the X-Pipe, Steeda UDP's and Brenspeed Tune, and the JBA Axle Back's the Throttle Response is INSTANT!!!

PS the 3.73 FRPP Gears don't hurt either.

Most shops won't remove the cats, it is illegal. Most guys on this forum that are running offroad pipes, bolted them on, themselves. Losing the cats, could net maybe 10hp with a tune, and a louder exhaust. Changing just the H to an X would possibly net 1 or 2 horsepower, and a different exhaust sound.
