I would never do it personally, but I guess everybody has the right to do what they want. Now if the guy is going around trying to pawn his girdy off as a real Shelby I got a problem with that!

Well I think utilizing body parts from special editions is completely cool. Spoilers, hoodsand front facias being used on a GT or V-6 does not a poser make.
However when you start slapping on emblems form a GT500 then you are a poser - plain and simple. Upbadging is posing.
Would it be cool to slap on a Z06 badge a regular c-6 Corvette? No it would be posing. It is not a tribute, it is not a clone it is posing.
You can upbadge your car if you like, yes, but don't cry when people laugh at you....

Anyone that would consider purchasing or buying a used Shelby should be doing their due-diligence in terms of researching the car they are buying. Heck, anyone buying a used car should. Caveat Emptor.

As far as it goes for people "personalizing" their car, so what? Sorry, more important things in my life than worrying about what someone else does with their money and car. I do have opinions but mine is neither right nor wrong. Opinions are like **** holes, everyone has one.

Is it your car? Do you pay his monthly payment? Do you even fill up his gas tank?

You don't?

Ok, than you have no reason to justify what he does to his car.
For real. Enough of this already.

We all know that Opinion's stink like the Ole poop shoot!

But it is their car and their money so go for it! If they like what they have done then I am all for originality.

Although sometimes I too would like to understand why some people do things. It is not to degrade them as much as I WANT to understand.

I had the same sort of discussion about people on this forum without Mustang's. I just did not understand and wondered. Some folks voiced their opinion rather loudly and thought I was bashing. (Which I was NOT)

But I was just interested in understanding why people would want to spend time on a Mustang forum who have no interest in Mustang's.

Same thing with Poser's. I don't get it and would not do it, but if someone wants to, then they should just enjoy! And of course be willing to take some ribbing about being a Poser!

Its RICE. No different from an Integra owner putting a Type R badge on his 4 lug GSR.

I'll give you an answer....one maybe you will not like. It all starts with what you portray your car as. A person could put nascar stickers on a Fusion, but guess what it's not a Nascar and I'm sure they won't say it is when asked. When people ask me, and say "Hey is that a Shelby" my response is simple..........No, Since a child I always loved the Look and the Color Combos of the Shelby GT 350, but Ford does nto make one or one that I can afford, the dealers mark them up 10,000 over sticker, so I built one myself.

But as you can probably see I nor most of the people that post here could even touch one. So Ford comes along with this new S197. The car is a blank canvas, you can go any direction with it and it looks good. People do the Hot Wheels Body kits for the racer Look, I see BOSS Clones, or MACH I Clones, GT 350 tributes, GT 500 dress ups, Cervini's Elenor, West Coasts Shelby. Guess what they are all Poser's then in your opinion. The line in the sand needs to be drawn somewhere, and that line is when you are asked if it is "Authentic Shelby, Boss, or MACH, you have to reply no, I've dressed it like one because that is my favorite all time mustang, and Ford just don't make them to where I can Afford it, Justify it, Physically Own it (Casue they don't make it) or Hell even drive it, becasue if your modding and racing and driving a Shelby like they are meant to be driven your just pissing money away.

The issue I have with you and many other's "Poser Posts" are, that they are all Disrespectful. Somewhere along your little day, you seen a Car that must have caught your eye for some reason (maybe you really liked it?) then you inspect it further like most Mustang Guys would, and you could probably determine easily that it was not the "REAL DEAL" So instead of asking the owner about his car to strike up "motorhead talk" as I call it, you scurry on home and log onto your computer, go to this forum or any other one and basically berate a guy or gal for building a car that "THEY" not "YOU" want or like. The best thing is you don't even know them, nor do you know their story. There is another guy on this forum that built a GT 350 Tribute for his father. Truly a great story, and a really great looking car. I know some of the people here tried to knock him down for doing so. It is days like those or posts from other mustang owners like this about these things, that will make any real mustang enthusiast cringe and feel small because some of our brotheren are no more than deceatful, disrespectful people, that will jump to a conclusion or try to humiliate you on a public forum for not having the same views as the "popular majority"

Remember it is Easy to follow, and alot harder to stand out and lead. I hope you can read this reply and take it for what it is, and that is what you wanted. I hope you can at the very least be a bit more respectful to other Mustang Owners that don't share your beliefs about how to or how not to dress up their vehicles. Until then enjoy your winter and we'll see ya out at the Shows in the Spring.

oh , yeah they did knock me for sure....most as yourself though did understand it...thats what makes these forums great...hey if someone wants to cry foul and call me a poser because of my car so be it...I will say...some people lose sight of what is an OPINION and what is just being personal. To say i dont like your car because it is not a real whatever...thats cool. that is an opinion...but when people give labels LIKE POSER, >>RICER,,,what have you then you are no longer truly giving an opinion yet rather giving a MONIKER to an individual....you are no calling someone by a name....you are labeling them...which in itself is childish and surpasses the state of opinion. Say you dont like it...fine...say its ugly..say its not for me...but as soon as you state " hey man your a ____" (fill in blank) then you are no longer giving an opinion on someones vehicle yet rather attacking them...no different than seeing someone walking down the street and calling them a slur...without even knowing them.thats where opinion ends and hatred begins....Just my 2 cents

thx mellow....been really busy with our expansion at the casino....been here and there...just happened to stumble across this post and was actually not going to comment on it..but you know how it goes
