Service Issue.
Well, I'm not sure how to react to this.
Before I left for Florida I had a shop in NJ install my 40 series flowmasters. There was a problem fitting the stock muffler pipe to the over-axle and the guy had to weld it in place; no big deal except he didn't do the best of jobs.. Appearance wise one muffler looked really weird, but the tip was straight and center so I figured what the hell... Who cares. Then my over-axle was rubbing against the panhard, making a horrendous noise.
Took it to the dealer down here, and immediately they blamed my mufflers and charged me labor to fix it. All they did was loosen the over-axle and turn the pipe. This resulted in the over-axle rubbing into the top of the body instead of the suspension, and made my exhaust tip crooked and silly. Plus they were supposed to look into another concern which is a thin-metallic rattle coming from the front of the car around 2500-3000 RPMs. They neglected to do that, and once seeing the aftermarket mufflers immediately decided that was all my problems.
2 minutes down the road after picking it up, and it was making noise. I was just starting a new job and didn't have the time to bring it back until now. Brought the car in at 7:30 AM, then we rented a car and went up to Kennedy Space Center to check out the Flordia Attractions. Forgot to charge my phone and it died around 4:30 PM... but the whole time I'm wondering why they haven't called me letting me know my car was ready to be picked up. So I get home, charge the phone and check my message. They call at 5:00 (They close at 5:30) to say. "Oh... well, we'd like you to swing by tomorrow and take the car for a ride and tell us what you think." I mean... how am I supposed to respond to something like this? What if I had to go to work, or needed the car for whatever reason? They think it's ok just to hold my car over night?
I don't know, just needed to vent. What's your view?

Well, I was shopping around and someone told me that Mineke did a good job... So I brought it in and the guy did seem to do a good job but I guess he just needs some glasses. I have an Aftermarket Over-axle too, without the crimp where it goes over the axle; which makes it harder. This is the part that is rubbing against stuff, but it never did that with my SLP Loudmouths, and the stock mufflers are the same dimension as my 40 series.
Anyway, I paid the guy cash; no tax.. thus no actual receipt/proof that he did anything. So it's impossible to make him pay for anything and I don't want to go through the hassle. I did pay Ford to fix the problem though, and they did a very unprofessional 'fix' and I'm really just tired of spending all of this money on exhaust. I love the sound of the 40 series though.

Don't accept the bill for a job that wasn't done right. Your paying good money for a good job. Any idiot can do a bad job. Not sure if going to ford was a good idea though. Have the original repair shop fix. But too late now.
