450 is not magical.... its the average of where there are issues....
and its the rods that give up.... power cast FTL!
the blocks can hold much more than 500 hp..... one builder ( I forget who) said the stock block is stronger than a teskid block.

They are tuff, drive it like you stole it. I had an 86 that had a on off switch. It was wot or nothing. My 05 only has 1100 miles on it so I have to wait a few more miles before I can repeat some old fun.
