Durable?
I keep seeing here and there, people saying that our mustangs are ment to be pushed hard, beat up etc, every now and then, is this true that are our cars made to thrash around?I know obviously not everyday. What makes them so durable, do we have good transmissions and rear ends to hold the nice power we have or what?
Not sure about a 67 3V engine but I'm not a Ford Fan. One of the best parts is the 31 spline axles. Very rare at this perfomance level. I know our drive train can handle quite a bit of abuse since I drag raced mine at least twice a weekend in the summer and never had a failure of any kind.
I just jinxed myself.

Knock on Wood!!!!
I mean the engine is inspired from the 1967 3V Motor. Not the same one. There are quite a few differences. The drivetrain is built tough, ford tough. Same with the read end. The engine block is pretty damn tough too. It can handle about 500 WHP before having major issues.

I stand correct. The first ever 3V was from the mid 90's, known as the Windsor Small Block. Inspired meaning, the engine sounds extremely similar to the old engine. Now, getting into the technical portion of why, don't ask. I heard this from a few techs down at ford when the S197 first came out.
