This is my 5th Ford (although two being 66 Mustangs probably don't count since I had then long after they left the factory) and I have had nothing but good luck with my cars (Expedition, Explorer, and now 06 GT). I drive my cars hard, and generally if taken care of and not rediculously abused you should many good years out of your car.

To me the 05+ is more than durable at stock to slightly modified levels. The rear end and transmission are more heavy duty than past GT's, so until you go to FI or Nitrous you should have no major concerns.
