Steeda claims running a free flowing air filter without a tune will lean the car out.

Not true. Probably trying to sell you a tune. They may be talking CAI also and not a drop in.

********Just looked. A tune is required for a CAI and NOT for a drop in.***********

I wouldn't do the economy package, it's only $70 to go with Brenspeed's JLT/Tune combo

I had a K&N drop-in before I got my CAI. I did notice that the car seemed to be a little more alert and wasn't as boggy.

If you're not getting a CAI soon, I'd get one.

I have thought about getting the K&N filter also. What if you get the filter and a tune? I'm not sure that I want a CAI, but I would like to get a tune. That would make a noticeable difference, right?

Thanks for the loads of response so quickly everyone. From what I've read I won't see much change, but it is worth getting in the long run. I was working on my tax return earlier and noticed that there are deductions available for energy efficient improvements. Wonder if I can convice IRS that CAI/Tune counts for a tax deduction? LOL but really I noticed that we will be getting a nice return so that may affect my mod budget some. Regardless I think I'll pick up a drop in filter this weekend anyway.

with those silly, little tax rebate checks they'll be sending out soon you'll have the cash!
Just wonder if there's any way they are made in America...

Maybe that could be an arguement to go the whole CAI/intake!
Anyone know what setups are Made in America?
Or how about any mods ingeneral? I know most sights don't tell us where the stuff is made. Check all your parts today!
My AMI locking fuel door was made in USA!

We're getting $1500. Going to take us on a silly little vacation in the GT this summer.

Not me. All our trees will be dead in 5 years from the pine beetles. Can't hug a tree anymore. I throw old computers in the trash. I recycle oil though. The local part place burns it to stay warm in the winter. Puts out a big cloud of black smoke.
