I am putting on a new drive shaft, pulled off the pimiom flange and a little bit of really dark fluid came out, so I want to put some fresh diff fluid in and cant find what kind it takes anyone know? I know dumb question but cant seem to find the answer anywhere else. thanks.

Note that Ford has revised the fill level from 1.0-1.125" below the hole to even with the hole.


Also if you are changing the fluid you will need Motorcraft XL-3 Friction Modifier Additive to keep the clutches from chattering.
Dont use anymore than absolutely required unless you like rebuilding your Traction-Loc.
