Avoid the Hurst.
Its just a glorified OEM shifter on steroids.
MGW FTW.
Hurst side by side with OEM shifter.
They look kinda similar.

Now for the Roush shifter.

Welllll, I'm not going to go bashing other manufacturers, but there is only ONE shifter for the S197 and that's MGW. Everything else feels like your hand is connected to the linkage. If you like that kind of thing, ok. I like the smooth, precise feel of the MGW.

And yeah ohnoesaz, my MGW is all "soccer-mom" and I like it like that!! lol! Seriously, I like it because it's totally adjustable. You can adjust the throw and the handle length. TOTALLY user adjustable. I've been experimenting with handle length and throw over the last few weeks. I think I now have shorter throw than the Hurst with the smoothness and preciseness only the MGW can provide. This will be my last shifter I think...

MGW FTW....even though it is the most expensive it is the best IMO and have had the tri-ax and felt the hurst and others and still like the MGW better IMO...J

Some people give the wrong impression of the Tri-Ax by saying that it is meant for harsh, aggressive shifting and too stiff for a DD. ...Not quite! The Tri-Ax is definitely built to handle abuse, but it's soooooo smooth through the gears. I love it! I fell in love with it the moment I took it out of the box and saw how nicely it was built. I thought to myself, "This is the kind of quality parts I want to go on my Mustang."

I also go the Steeda cylindrical shift ****.
