Tire reviews needed!
Does anyone have experience with either of the following tires on their S197 or other mustang:
Federal SS 595
Champiro 328 GT
Riken Raptor GT
NexeN N3000
These tires are seriously cheap, $70-$107 bucks for either size 255/50/17 or 255/45/18
They all have a tread rating of AA/A or A/A and are Ultra high performance or max summer tires
Most prices I got from onlinetires.com or tiresavings.com
They have Nitto NT555 285/40/18 for $185 each and Toyo T1-R for $201 each

RE: Tire reviews needed!
Why ya lookin for "cheap tires"
As with anything, you get what you pay for....
No personal experience here, but have had a few cars come in that had Nexen or Rikens on them.
Mostly the brotha's that were sporting the 20's+

Come on now Stoenr . . .
I can't afford those F1 supercars like you. I was merely wondering why these tires were half as much as most others. Yes, Federal is chinese/taiwanese, Champiro is Indonesian, Riken is part of Michelin I think, and I don't know about NexeN.
I was thinking if I could save a few penies on tires, I could get a few more suspension goodies sooner.

Most decent 17" tires are usually $150+, "good" ones are usually $200+. Tires are the only part of your car that physically touches something else. Tires are VERY important, if you drive aggressively ever you NEED to have good tires. Call around to your local tire shops and tell them this - you want an inexpensive, yet name brand tire. With at least a V rating. That should get you a pretty decent tire. Also, if you want lots of cutomer reviews go to www.tirerack.com

RE: Tire reviews needed!
I've ran the Nexens, 255/45/18's, they did really well, once I got lca's and brackets. I had 20,000 miles on them when I got rid of them. It sounds like you are running around 290 to 310 rwhp, if you get the tires you can buy the suspension parts to make em hook with the savings. I run BFG's now and they don't hook, but I'm running alot more H.P. now. I tried getting some input awhile back on tires for a S/C but didn't receive any responses, the thread was moved to drivetrain where it died. I would like to get something that would give me some kind of hook in 2nd gear that wouldn't throw my *** in a ditch when it rains.
