Thanks for serving appreciate that. Only have had mine for a month but was still able to put 2000 miles on her in Jan. I can't wait to go to work everyday because of how I get there. Enjoy and lets see some pics. No downside yet and I doubt I will be able to find one.
Main thing to remember when getting advice from the forum:
Always find out what the person you are getting advice from is into. If they are into drag racing, they will try to convince you that your car can't survive without drag racing items...4.10 gears, drag radials, supercharger,....many things. If they are into showcase bling, they will tell you you have to have 20" chrome rims, a 3" lowering kit to slam your ride, and all the little chrome accessories. Not that there is anything wrong with these opinions, but everyone is biased based on their interests.
Also...HAVE FUN! EVJOY YOUR CAR!...when you can, that is.
Thanks for your service!

Welcome to the forum, you'll learn a bunch here, if i hadnt found this site, my car would probably be somewhat stock and i'd have alot more money
but anyways...
thanks for serving
. Now as to the ups and downs, the ups are power, style, the rumble of a V8, well for you atleast, it's easy to add power, and it's comfortable to drive. The down side is it doesnt come with a supercharger
[8D]and you wont have a whole lot of money oncethe mod bug gets ya.

Welcome, and as many before me have said, thank you for serving!!
Ups - Well, I guess everything except the downs, right?
Power, looks, the way it turns heads, the wind in your hair (if you bought a 'vert
), comfortable interior (unless you have to sit in the back seat
), large trunk, WAY easy to mod - speaking of which - whether you're into drag racing, show/bling, or just cruising - do yourself a favor - spend the $600 on a CAI and a tune. It's absolutely AMAZING what it does for the car - it's like a completely different animal! No more throttle hesitation, if you bought an automatic (you didn't say) it firms up the shifts, you get more horsepower, and believe it or not, better gas mileage, too (if you can behave with the loud pedal). I'm not kidding about this mod.. I waited almost 6 months after buying the car before I did this, and I kicked myself EVERY time I got in the car for not doing it sooner. I'd say maybe wait 1000 miles just to make sure you don't have any kind of factory defects, and then go for it. And if you have to take it to a dealership for service, it's easy enough to change it back to stock. Install/uninstall takes about 30 mins, no ****.
Downs - Lots of TSBs for this car, it seems.. Water leak, front end clunk, e-brake cable problems, fuel tank fill problems, fuel sending unit problems (hesitation after cruise issue), Skipper 1k, "leather"-ish interior, crappy factory shifter (5-speed), etc etc..
But - your car is new ('08 I would assume), so you shouldn't have any of these issues, except the leather, shifter, and possibly the skipper 1k issue. I think the Skipper 500 is the same, not sure. In any event, the only other downside is it's like attaching a vacuum to your wallet.. $6k for a supercharger, $2k for wheels/rubber, some dress up stuff, you can EASILY sink $10-20k into the car without even realizing what happened.
Enjoy the new car, and I'm sure we'll see more of you on here as the days pass.

Have FUN with it!
re: your 67 memories: The reason I bought: when I was in high school I helped my older brother rest-mod (before that was even a term) his 67 coupe. Took the 289 out and now has a 390 in it. (WHAAAAAAT? YES)
Anyway, he kept it Lime.I distinctly remember pulling the carpets and doing all the body work with him. Good times.
Fast forward 20 years...I'm visiting one of my customers and I see an '05 Legend Lime V6 auto in their parking lot. I stopped dead and was like: No WAYYY!I HAVE to find a way to buy one of these. Took me two years....but here I am...chose my own color tho.
He and I live 300 miles away and one day this summer I want to drive my ride to his place, go fora nice cruise and get pics side by side.
Lots of ups compared toa 67: electric, suspension, handling, powerplant
Downs: cabin is much bigger but still feels cramped, LOTS more plastic, weight(?)
anyway, thanks and have fun with it.

Just like any car it has its ups and its downs which are mostly minor fit, finish, and quality control issues.
However as productionhas continued inthe present form for a while now it appears that these are fewer and fewer.
As a whole they are a great bang for the buck. So far my car has had zero issues.
Its getting bad. Im a long ways from a kid and all I want to do is drive it or talk about it.
Ive had it for 8 months and its just gets worse. I think this may be a keeper.
