Should I pay FULL MSRP?

Should I pay FULL MSRP?
HI,
I'm looking into getting an 08 Bullitt next month. I went to one dealer and he wanted full msrp saying its a limited edition. I personally don't think 7000 units is that limited. Should I try to haggle a bit? I also heard that Ford is doing a redisign for 09 with more hp. Should this help with negotiations?
Thanks

RE: Should I pay FULL MSRP?
You have to try to get it cheaper, it's the law of the buyer. But the ticket price is exactly that, the dealer doesn't have to shift if he doesn't want to, there's no "should" or "must" about it.
Good luck.
( If you get oneIcan sell you a cheap GT spoiler [8D] )

I say always negotiate never just go with what the sales men says he is trying to make commission. I have never seen a dealership that would not come off a price they want to sell the cars. Negotiate and if he say no then walk out there is got to be another dealer that will work with you.

I say try and if he wont budge try a different dealer ... if they wont budge then you ahve a choice to make. If you really want itthen you'll pay it and they know that. I persnally would keep trying different dealers until I got the price that I wanted

i am a bit biased cuz the bullitt doesn't overly impress me; however, if i went into a dealership and they weren't willing to give me a price that i felt was reasonable and that i was comfortable with, i wouldn't buy the car. also, bear in mind that you can upgrade a gt quite easily and somewhat thriftily and have it handily outperform a bullitt.

You are nuts if you give that dealer yea hard earned money.
is the money burning a hole in your pocket?
There are at least 3000 ford dealers in the states.....
I and among many others have got their Mustangs at INVOICE or Lower...
The bullitt to me is not that limited and if you want to do a tad of calling
you might and I am sure you will get the car for under msrp...
Are yeaaaaa nuts talking to a salesperson?
When you walk into any dealership, first words out of your mouth should be asking
to talk to the salesmanager,,,,he will not let you leave the dealership without a sale.A salesperson is not that smart and he does not care,,,thats why you always talk to a salesmanager and never a salesperson.....JT

RE: Should I pay FULL MSRP?
Agree with what everyone has said but I think they might POSSIBLY be wrong.
But of course, it's possible that the demand for Bullits are enough that they can actually be sold at MSRP. Even if the actual demand isn't there, if the dealer perceives that the demand will be there he probably won't sell it for anything less until it's been on the lot for awhile.
This is why Ferrari's have 4 year waiting lists and a used version will cost 50-100K over the new MSRP. Also, pretty much all new Porsche's sell at sticker price as well in addition to a waiting list. When the Toyota FJ Cruiser came out dealers were selling them 5K over the MSRP.
I think there's a 50/50 chance that the demand for Bullits is strong enough that dealers will sell them at or around MSRP even at 7000 units. Just speculating.
