All new pioneer models come out in March/April. The reason there is rebates and stuff right now is because of this. If you care about getting the new models with a better interface, I would wait, I know I am waiting.

Yes any video player will work since you can hook it up using one of the video inputs in the back.....but i agree that the placement of the unit is not good for such a task....if any think have a rear mounted screen for the kids in the back seat or something.

The D3 is nice, I just don't like that **** on the left side. Makes it look old school. It also looks like it takes away from the screen size when compared to the other units here. But you can't beat the price, especially with that Best Buy deal going on.

Is the nav by Tom Tom or Garmin? Would it be easy to instal for someone who has no clue, like me?

Can anyone post a picture of the screen shot? Does the D3 have a camera input? I'm really tossing around the idea of getting this unit.

pioneer avic z-1 i love it...i dont think there is too much difference in the z2 and z1 i do know with the z1 you can have either xm or sirus or both...not sure if thats the case with the new one......and if you have siruis i keep an eye out next christmas cause this year they had a deal in dec if you paid kike 400 bucks ....you get sirius for life...its only 75 bucks to change sending the signal if you have to get a new brain (tuner)if you will...so basically as long as the brain i have doesnt die ( or when it does) ill only pay 75 bucks to activate the new brain (tuner) if you will...provided i keep the one i have (and iplan to) or it neevr dies ....i will never get a monthly bill from sirius.....yeah thats right im a lifetime subscriber........ i got howard stern and nfl radio for life....oh yeah

The rebate is not valid at the following storesfrom the rebate form)

Best Buy
Circuit City
Crutchfield
Car Toys
Al & Eds Autosound
Tweeter

Since the above list is the majority of places that we can go to that will give a reciept (required for the rebate), where else can you get it from?

I removed the Shaker 1000 and replaced it with a Kenwood DVD (DDX-6019) and nav unit. All the speakers work fine and the new head unit sounds soooo much better!!! The only strange thing for install is the 5v regulator needed to keep the subs from popping real loud when you turn on the ignition.
