My color Dash question

RE: My color Dash question
I have this on my pony and it's really not worth the trouble or expense. I pretty much just set it on Blue when I got it, fiddled with it a couple of times, and then just left it at Blue and never touched it again. You'd be better off spending that money on duals or a good midrange prostitute.
Oh, and to answer your question, it's a couple hundred bucks with probably $2-300 more for the install. And yes, they will very likely fu*k up you **** when they install it.

ummm if you have ford do it, obviously they know how to take the dash apart on their own cars, and even f they did mess something up, they would have to fix it for free..not sure why thats even an issue

RE: My color Dash question
i was one of the first to do this back in 05 and it is worth it . but not so much for the my-color but for the 2 extra gauges and all of the message center stuff. it gives you miles til empty, miles per gallon, door ajar, trunk ajar, average speed, and more. the basic cluster just has speedo tach and 2 gauges. the my color has water, oil, amps and fuel as well as speedo and tach. first you need to see if you can upgrade. you need to pop the cover off next to the power plug. take a small screwdriver and a piece if cloth to prtect the dash and it pops off. if thewre is a plug with wire stowed in the back of it you can upgrade if you like. if not you car does not have the harness for it and it would be costly. as far as the cluster goes it is around 220 and the switch the replaces the cover is 35 so your into it for about 275 with tax. the install takes about 20 min and can be from 75 to 125 depending on the dealer. you can install the switch and prep for the cluster but most have ahd to had the unit reflashed at the dealer to take advantage of all the features. the cluster in held in buy 4 screws and has one plug in the rear that is it. lower the wheel and then grap the trim at the 2 large crome openings tach and speedo and just pull , it pull right forward. then you can see the 4 screws. then take it to the dealer and half the work is done. also the will have to order the cluster because you give them your mileage and the cluster comes with it programed in it
