I'm also very curious if there is or will be any sort of hidden hitch for the 05. I am NOT wanting to pull anything and I DO have a truck. I would like to use my bike rack with the stang for traveling to/from going mountain biking each weekend. The stang gets better milage and is a hell of a lot more fun to drive. I only drive the truck when there's snow on the ground.

I would not dare cut any part of the rear, but I would simply like to find or just make my own hidden hitch assembly that I can use to haul the bike so I don't have to drive my crappy truck all the time.

Well with the class 2 hitch on my Alero, the receiver slides in and is held with a pin, so when I take it out, all you can see is the square metal box, which doesn't really stick out. Hoping the class 1 is the same. The receiver will pop up well underneath the bumper so you won't cut any part of the car. A car hitch brace looks like an H or h and wraps around the gas tank, bolting underneath to the subframe, drilling 3 or 4 places underneath, but not usually drilling thru to interior of the trunk or anything.

Hidden Hitch and Reese both have the 05 hitch in development. I'm on the waiting list for both. I wanted one on the day I drove off the lot and am impatiently waiting. While others may make trailer park remarks, I say why not have even more practical capabilities. I commute every day of the week in mine. My M/C trailer will be just as happy behind a great car as it is behind a crap truck. And there is no trash in my back seat. Too bad Whitey McBitch can't say the same about his FRONT seat.

I was thinking of adding a trailer hitch to my Mustang because the carrier I use for my mountain bike is designed to fit into the hitch. And yes I would agree that a Mustang pulling a jetski would look cool.

Make sure to take pics when you put in on a steep ramp in low water... when the rear end slips off the ramp and your need to be towed out...

And yes I see this happen often enough...

I saw that happen with a truck believe it or not. It could not pull an empty trailer out of the water. I think he put it in way too far so the rear tires had no traction on the moss that makes it slippery as ice there.

Yeah sure.. that will happenn with ANY Rear 2WD vehicle...

I go to the lake to put in the 30' Rinker Cabin Cruiser and some Ahole with a 2WD is stuck and needs to be towed out... [:@] wasting everyones time because he doesn't have the BRAINS to be using a 4WD utility vehicle to be towing things around...

Pure Genius...
