Cutting off cats
Im getting long tube headers put on my car, i want to just straight up cut out the converters, there is no point in them being there...Someone told me it would give me more power when i do that cause it will free up the exhaust...can i cut them off what are some problems in doing that...thank you for all the help..

If you're going to spend the money on LT headers, you should be able to spend a little more to get a proper midpipe. It'll be louder, you'll get a little more power, and you'll need a tune.

I'm confused. Are you going to cut your cats off to put them in after the long tubes are in? Your cats won't be there anymore after the long tubes are installed. If you don't want cats after the longtubes are installed, just buy an offroad midpipe for your longtubes.
Yeah do some more research. The stock cats/pipe is a complete "downpipe" from the log manifolds on your car. When going with LT's you'll need a "mid-pipe" mating your longtubes to a cat-back setup. Completely different. Give one of the mustangforum vendors a call and talk about what your plans are.
