Umm...what?
Most dealerships are only smart enough to copy a repair right from the big old ford service manual. Warranty work and oil changes. Ever notice when you go to a dealership compared to basically any performance shop, the price and time quote is always higher. Never waste your time or money at the dealerships for mods.
I had the Goodyear place install my Roush front springs and shocks while they were mounting my new tires. No problem!
The work they did was
1. Remove tire pressure sensors from old rims and install onto new rims
2. Mount and balance all 4 tires
3. Install Roush struts and Roush front springs
4. Adjust camber (I provided the two camber bolts)
The total cost was $330.

Yeah but Roush and ford are tied together. When I first bought my car they asked if I wanted to turn it into a roush but it would have cost way too much........well at that point in my life anyway.
were you trying to use aftermarket parts?
I wouldn't really blame them. But if you wanted to buy the FRPP kit they should have jumped to attention! Heck, they should have told you to return any aftermarket springs/shocks and then given you a deal on the Ford parts!
I guess they get paid by the hour there!

How stupid is that.
I had a similar problem trying to find someone to install a dual exhaust on my 6-banger. Called a large-chain muffler place near my house and they were like "no, we don't really have anyone to do that, call the main 'exhaust-guy' for the chain at blah blah blah."
So I called the place where the "exhaust guy" worked, and they were like "no man, he doesn't put dual exhausts on V6 Mustangs. He tried before, it's too tough, no way."
Some exhaust guy.
Yours though, especially calling a Ford dealer, that's retarded.
In my city there are several Ford dealers, but only one that specializes in Ford "performance" stuff. Are you maybe in a similar situation? The bulk of dealers don't want to deal with it, but maybe there's one place with some talent that will take it on for you?
If not, you're probably better off going with some outside mod company anyway. Ford always charges like 3x the going market rate for parts and service hours. Shop around, I'm sure someone will do it for you (and probably at a cheaper rate than Ford.)

Weird, I've had my BBK underdrive pulley and Triax short throw shifter installed at a Ford dealership. The shifter was the first time they ever installed one there, so they said it was going to be a "learning experience" for them. Regardless, that place has a flat rate of $300 for custom installations (basic stuff at least). Anyway, both installations went without a hitch, though this place makes custom mustang GTs for the dealership itself. In the show room they have a while one all tricked out supercharged, and only $27k!

The dealership makes the rules on what they will and wont do on a car, not the techs.
My cousin works at my local ford dealership. Most of the guys there don't want to mess with lowering springs because it makes getting the car on and off the lift a pain in the ****. You can use any reputable shop though it doesn't have to be the dealership.
