Default Safe to buy body parts from ebay?

I found a new hood + scoop on ebay for a surprisingly good price. Besides checking into the seller to see if anything looks fishy, does anyone have any particular thoughts on purchasing through ebay? are there a lot of ripoffs happening right now that should make me cautious etc?

thanks all

never buy from anyone who has less than 100 feedback if it's a bigger item. look at their feedback and what product people bought from them. make sure if the seller says that he is an import car specialist, he hasn't been selling toaster ovens and computers.

i just bought a new bumper off of ebay and have purchase a majority of the stuff for my car via ebay.

Yep, the Shelby spoiler I just purchased came from eBay ... kinda bit the bullet on that one, but figured for the price I would give it a try.

Surprisingly - the paint matched up PERFECTLY - everything installed in under a hour and I'm am VERY pleased with the end results.

I will most likely buy my hood from Cervini (simply because I know their stuff is of good quality) - but will probably get my smoke bumper lenses off eBay as well.

Lke kdrshocker said -- really take a good look at thier feedback. Just because it's high -- doesn't necessarily mean they are a good seller. They could have sold e-books all along, then all of a sudden start selling $500 products. I only buy from 98% or higher sellers - with ATLEAST over a 100 similar sells like what I'm looking at.

Good luck - let us know how it turns out if you go that route.

Don't know which scoop it is, but I do know there is a vendor on E Bay right now selling "Roush" scoops very cheap. But if you read carefully, they are actually "Roush like" scoops......

Just be careful. I got my Shelby spoiler on E Bay, and it's great.......

remember, anyone selling on eBay is losing a huge amount in fees now, so their parts will be marked up a LOT! They might also try to recoupe those fees with higher shipping charges.
Only buy from people who are known to US!
