Default 'black box' data

Hey guys,

Question for those in the know...

Someone in our company recently wrote off one of our F450 trucks and the finger pointing has started by those involved in the collision. I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about getting the data pulled from the 'black box' of the vehicle so we can determine vehicle speed etc. in the moments prior to the crash. Obviously I'm sure this is something that we can't do ourselves, but if anyone could provide any insight as to how to go about getting it done, or if it's even possible that'd be great.

you have to go through the police I believe, and even then someone in the PD has to be certified to do it

Its for Fords use only against lawsuits and such.
You will never get the data. The dealers dont
even have access to it. [:@]
Kinda like getting the Video from Wal-Mart to find
out who keyed your car. Not going to happen.

Hmmm, I don't know about that, I've heard it in the news several times where what one person stated was conflicted by what the black box had to say.
