RE: Convertible top care
I wash my cloth top with whatever carwash soap Iuse to wash the carand have had no issues after 1 year. A lint roller works for in-between touch-ups or if you do get a little lint on it when drying (but I let it air dry). Ed.....

My car has a metal top so I dont know anything about cloth or vinyl tops. why do you all like the cloth better? I would have thought vinyl would hold up better.

I've seen some black cloth tops that look like velvet.

RE: Convertible top care
I thought about getting my Vert with the cloth top, but I coudn't justify it because the top is never up when I'm driving it. I only put the top up to wash it. I use my DD (95 cougar) and I will be replacing it in 4 months for a 2002 cadillac deville with only 37k on the clock, for my DD. (not to shabby for a DD.)
