What does a running lean code have to do with octane? I dont think hegot the lean code from loading the 93 octane tune.

You were at about 91.5 octane before. If you refill now at half a tank with 93, you will be close enough. Your mistake was tuning it with 87 in the tank, then driving it to the station to fill it up. You need to get your fuel right before you tune it.

He changed the timing which caused a lean mixture if he didn't use the cooler burning 93 octane. Because cylinder pressure increases from the excess heat produced, it somehow makes lean. The mix is acurate if the octane is right, but since it is off, it fouls up the ratio. I doubt he was pinging because of the knock sensor, but pre-ignition can do many things.

GRRR....i just got my H pipe installed and I was expecting to throw a code for the O2 sensors but all I got were the SAME 3 CODES I have been throwing, tellin me that I'm running lean. I'm getting really frustrated with this. I used a half tank of gas but don't wanna fill it up w/o knowing what I should do. Should I go back into the tuner and get the stock tune that was on my car before I tried running the 93 octane? I already went back to the 87octane tune that was in the tuner. GRRRR....Sorry for my continued posting of my problem, but I wanna just get back car back to normal...

What tune are you loading? I had a similar problem when I installed my delete plates, same codes. The problem was that when Doug at Bamachips wrote my tune, he accidentally wrote a tune for a C&L Racer and I have a C&L Street intake.

If the problem goes away when you load the 87, and returns with the 93, the issues must lie in the 93 tune. I think now, you have to contact the provider.

it comes on w/ both tunes...im going to go out there and 'return to stock tune" and see if it comes back on at all...the only thing is, i have a feeling that it wil lcome back because i have the intake on...and obviously more air is going into the engine...HMMMM

ok...so i went back out there...disconnected my battery, re connected it...then put the C&L 91octane tune (even though i am using 93, there is no 93 tune on the tuner* will have to call them tomorrow)--and as of an hour ago, and about 20 mins of driving i have yet to throw another code...so hopefully, its fixed ..if not, we'll see what i have to do

What kind of tuner do you have? If you have an SCT or Diablo, you're better off just buying a tune from Brenspeed or Bamachips.

This is not an octane related issue, if it was your engine would be pinging. This is either a tune problem, or you have something installed incorrectly with the intake. Did you install the MAF sensor in backwards or something?
