I totally agree with anyone who says you WILL NOT save money if you buy a bike. If you sell your mustang for the bike, thats a different story, but who the hell would do that. I got an06 R1 and i love it. I picked it up used with 90 miles on it!!!! for $8100 from a Ebay auction with no reserve a year ago. It is by far the best deal i have ever got.

Why? If the bike gets 70mpg and my car gets 17 miles per gallon, that would average out to 43mpg if I use both equally as much. I'm not looking for an $8,000 bike, i'm thinking $4k tops. It's a lot cheaper than a car and no car gets comparible gas mileage. Not to mention there is no insurance required in the state of Florida.

Yea but you still have to fork out that extra 4k or so. Thats at least a couple years in gas money. It would take awhile before you were actually saving money. And then you get bored of the bike and you trade/sell it and spend another 4k or more. Bikes are an addiction just like mustangs.

Here's my new Daytona 675. My excuse for buying it was to save gas but that was just a joke. I ride so many miles on it that I spend more now than before on gas. Plus there is all the gear, insurance and the mod bug that keeps biting.

I used to have a 150cc scooter that got close to 70MPG...and topped out about 53MPH. From what I've read, the Ninja 250 will get in the 60's for mileage. And have you seen the new Ninja 250? WOW! Nice looking bike.

Ugh... the 999 is the ugliest bike every to come out of the Ducati factory. In my opinion, there will never be a bike quite a beautiful as the 916.

Thought the new 1098 certainly does come close...
