Default Catted X

Anyone running a catted x-pipe? Specifically a Bassani catted x with Borla stingers?

I love the sound of the setup in this vid, but it sounds like it might be a little too close to an offroad sound...maybe some trumpeting. I love the way the catted x brings out the engine's thumping on accel and decel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD3htFQg9bU

The Bassani catted x with race pipe inserts is $388.55 at Brenspeed.
I could just splice in either a Pypes x ( $89.95 at Brenspeed ) or a FRPP x ( $144.95 at summit racing ) after the cats, but I wonder if it will sound as good as the Bassani with the high-flow cats.

Any opinions on this?

I'm also wondering how much drone the catted X will get rid of.

hey man..

i too was lookin at gettin the same one from brenspeed.. but ended up gettin the same thing from my buddys dad, who was selling the car..

put it on last night. (stock axle backs).. and had my cutouts welded in after high flow cats.. witht he stock mufflers.. sounds like sh.t.. but with the cutouts open.. sounds awesome!.. but way loud..

i think you will deffinately be happy with it.. i recomend it way more than the off road pipes.. and the thing thats nice.. is you can remove the cats easily and just put a straight piece of tubing in place.. (awesome idea they came up wiht IMO)..

i say go for it man

Hey, what do you mean by cutouts?

I know a guy that had chokemasters on his Camaro and the mufflers had caps in the front that he could take off by unscrewing some wing-nuts. It was crazy loud with the caps off.

its that exactly.. but electric.. all i do is hold a swithc for about 5 seconds..and its basically a throttle body wiht a butterfly valve..

go to QTPcutouts.com i think it is.. or google it or youtube.. its aweseome bc i can close them when coming home.. or when i dont want it to be loud.. (when im next to cops.. or whatever)

I am seriously considering it. I want to wait to get some feedback from people who know more about our stock cats and how the Bassani setup will compare to splicing in an X-pipe behind my stock cats.

BUT.....I'll most likely be ordering something before the weekend is over.

i have the exact same setup... and it sounds even better in person.

the Bassani x is a lot louder over the stock pipe. the high-flow cats used with the Bassani are damn small.. but they are very effective in cleaning up the nasty, raw sound that comes with an o/r pipe.

welding in an x splice won't really do much if you're keeping the stock cats; you probably won't even notice a difference in sound or power.

it's about my 8th and final setup. finally it's loud but clean.. something that I was unable to accomplish with an o/r pipe. the high-flow cats clean it up so much... and you keep that smooth borla tone.

PM me if you have any questions man.

Hmmm,
I wonder how that catted x-pipe would sound with my Corsas. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

How do you reconnect the rear O2 sensors?
It looks like the wiring would have to be extended, is there an extenstion kit?
