The problem with the '06 is that there's no AUX jack in the center console.
Ooooh, that sucks.

I got mine at Bestbuy 8 months ago.
I have not had a single issue that you describe.
PerhapsI am lucky or have a revised unit.

Ford has a solution called Trip Tunes Advanced. It's about a $300 solution (installed) and works well. I have it in my 07 vert

It took quite awhile before I had any acting up as well....but I have never used mine as a daily driver and park it over the winters. So in my case, it took awhile to show up. If I were you though, I wouldnt chance it. I would take the time to pull the unit long enough to get any numbers off of it and then contact peripheral and ask them if this might be one of the older units that had problems. If you dont want to or dont feel you need to since you havent had any problems, congrats. But if its the older model, its just a matter of time. I read far far too many threads about people having these issues with the older one. My mustang is my baby. Once I finally figured out that it was that unit that was causing my problems, out it came without the slightest regret. Once it was removed, I havent had a problem since.

I have an iSimple in my car with a Shaker 500 system. It works like a champ and charges my iPod. I put it in my center console.

while using our famous 'search' feature I came across this thread. I am looking to fully integrate my ipod into the stock shaker 500. I am not looking for triptunes or an fm modulator. they stink in dense FM/RF areas such as where I live.

I just looked upisfd71 on the peripheral website and it doesnot as compatible with the Mustang. I wonder if they de-commissioned it for the Stang due to the issues Andretti brought up.

I am also looking at the BrandMotion. any comments on that unit?

actually, if you live in the country, or someplace without a lot of FM radio stations, the FM transmitter works pretty good, for the price.

But if I had an iPod, I'd go all they way and get something that can be operated by the Shaker controls and get charged too.

Any idea if Ford is going to wake up and put the Sync system in the 2009 Mustangs?

Is there anyway to use the shaker controls when the IPOD is connected to the aux jack in the console?

Chain1:

I don't believe you can integrate the ipod via the aux in on the front of your shaker console. it simply is an auziliary input. no charging via that port (you would need a 'cigarette lighter' style adapter and plug it into your center/top charger or into the charger in your console compartment) and no control via that port. so you have to navigate using the ipod and volume primarily via the shaker.

since my 06 does not have a 3.5mm aux input in the shakerthisis not an option for me. I love the idea of controlling the ipod via the stock head unit and also charging it. In my DD I use a ipod/casette adapterna nd a cigarette' lighter style charger. There is two cords right there. Add to that my Motorola Q car charger cold and I have cords all OVER the place. I am leaning to brandmotion at the moment. would like to hear from any Brandmotion customers. maybe I will start a new thread calling on them.

Yup, I don't live in the country. For my DD I tried two different modulators, they both stunk. Sounded worse than a cell phone.I currently am on my third ipod/cassette adapter. This third one performs the best, and is the cheapest ironically.

As far as the 09 goes I don't know, but then again I won't be buying an 09 so it won't help me. I have spoke to some fellow 'stangers and have investigateda new head unit with Navi such as the Avici (I hear good things about it) but I am just not in the car that much. I am TRYING to funnel funds into the SC kitty. you can see from this post how that is going for me.
