while using our famous 'search' feature I came across this thread. I am looking to fully integrate my ipod into the stock shaker 500. I am not looking for triptunes or an fm modulator. they stink in dense FM/RF areas such as where I live.

I just looked upisfd71 on the peripheral website and it doesnot as compatible with the Mustang. I wonder if they de-commissioned it for the Stang due to the issues Andretti brought up.
I was told by the lady I contacted at peripheral thats EXACTLY why it was removed. I only read in January that they had re-released the unit (assuming they had determined what was messing things up and then fixed it). But I havent heard anyone say they are for sure running a new one without any problems.

I've got an 06gt with Shaker 1000. Got this a few weeks ago and it works great. You can control the ipod itself or throught the factory head unit.

i just purchased and installed the iSimple "ISFD73". i'm assuming this is the revision to the faulty iSimple "ISFD71". i've had it in for a couple days and all is working fine and dandy thus far but i'm taking it with a grain of salt since i am an old victim of Peripheral's early aux adapter gadget (PXD... something, green casing) that gave me all the dash/instrument problems. i'll keep posted if anything faulty occurs with this ISFD73 unit.

*BTW... bought it in person at Best Buy for $150.

I found one that pulls power from the 12v aux in the car instead of from the CANBUS (the radio) and those dont reset it. I have been running mine for a long time now (almost a year) and it hasnt had a problem. The adapter is only RCA to the stereo so I got that and then a iPod data plug to RCA and 12v to charge. after all this time, there are still few, inexpensive solutions if you have a 2005-06. I personally don't want to spend $150-200 and then have to deal with any issues on top of that. I'd be happy to pay $300 if I knew it worked, but have yet to see anything that will work on my 2005.
Noticed way too many people with 2007+ responding to the post!

I have done fine by just using an fm transmitter for $15 when I'm out of the city and there are few stations to cause interference. In the city I really need to listen to AM radio for the news and all the traffic reports anyway!
Have thought about unscrewing my shorty antenna and seeing if that will work. Will let you know.

iSimple ISFD73 working GREAT so far and sound quality is A+. i know it ain't cheap at $150 but its worth it to me since i want to keep original factory equipment in my stang and now have it fully integrated with my ipod or any other aux device. not the option for everyone but great for those who want to keep original HU.

Like Sancho805 I currently have the iSimple ISFD73. I'd bought the 71 through bestbuy.com where it was listed as compatible, it worked for a couple weeks then I had the errors. I returned it, bought the 73 off the shelf, and have had it in ever since. No trouble with it at all. I've got mine mounted through the center console. The only thing to be careful of is to make sure the dip-switches on it are set properly for your vehicle.

Works great, installs easily, and is pretty cheap at $149.99.
