Im just trying to figure out the benefits of adding the tach when every mustang comes with a tach. Is it because of the lack of a shift light? I think the car would look funny with 2 tachs in it

The benefit of adding a tach is that its an accurate one. The stock tach is marginal. I like pushing the limits and if I'm hitting 6500 RPM I want to be sure thats what its doing. I'm installing a unit that also has a memory function so I can replay what I did after the fact.

Think when I get it tomorrow I'll stick it in a few places with 3M tape and see how it feels.

So it's looking like I can mount it to the pillar... What does anyone think about this spot? Just kinda wondering if anyones done this and if anybody sees a downside to it...

see.. heres where the mustang community is wrong..
Monster tachs + S197 Mustangs dont mix.....just my .02

.... you ment to say, most tachs + hondas dont mix.. a mustang is freakin muscle car.. how does that not mix!??!... it may not look good to some.. but those ppl should be driving a lexus, or a audi.. come on.. you have to be kidding me.. yes there are some ways that it could look ugly, but if you do it right.. it screams muscle/race car when you look inside the car..

go for it man.. as far as mounting it where the OE tach is.. i wouldnt.. theres dash lights there and if they came on, you wouldnt even know it.. i saw in the corner, if that doesnt work, then in the center like forensicsteve.. (BADASS CAR BTW!!!!)

Notice the .02[&:]....IMO monster tachs look cheap and ugly......having a giant tach drilled into the interior looks dumb.....it may work on Fox's/classic cars....but in a brand new car it looks out of place.

What exactly makes the Mustang a "muscle car"?The V6 Cadillac CTS has 308hp. Guess that makes it a better muscle car? It handles better than a Stang. I know my CTS-V will kill aStang stock forstock, and even any non-FIStang for non-FI Caddi.

i always LOL at people with thoes. Do our cars rev to 10,000 rpms, do you drive a fully built and gutted race car, NO. Stock tach and a Raptor light is more then enough. they dont look good in any car; old muscle car, new mustang, fox, civic... maybe, an off-shore racing boat.
