why dont you just grab a grinder cut your stock one round the edge and flat black the area you grinded. i did that and it looks great.
Because it still has the ugly twisted pattern.
Exactly ... [:'(]

I had a shorty antenna, but it got totalled in my accident. I ended up cutting the stock antenna and grinding the end round. A little primer and gloss black paint and it blends in better than any billet aluminum one.

Yeah I just cut mine off, painted some flat black on it, put it back on and it looks just fine. Easy and cheap mod and you get rid of the huge antenna they put on there.

Let me throw my opinion out there. Been making them for people for a couple years now. If you take your antenna off. And with some force. You can pop the old ball end tip off. DON'T LOSE IT. Cut the stock one the length you want. Grind just enough of the end to get it smaller. JB weld the tip back on. Paint it black. And your set. I don't see the point of spending $15+ for something you can make for the cost of a black rattle can. I make them for $5 and your old antenna back. So I have one ready to go with the next person wanting one. Mostly the $5 is for supplies

I boughtthe 14" from ShortyAntennaSource on eBay and had it in two days. I think the 14" flows with the lines of the car better. IMO the 8" looks odd and that 3" fatty looks silly.

I listen to AM almost exclusively on my commute (for traffic and news)and have only noticed a very slight degradation in signal.

So some people would rather spend the money than just make them themselves? Thats 5 gallons of gas right there. lol
