I read about theleaking issue and the wet passenger floor while researching the purchase of my new Mustang and felt confident that this issue was taken care of by now. What a friggin idiot I am.
I took delivery of my new 2008 GT on Friday at the beginning of a 2 day rain storm. I drove it home and parked it until Sunday. I finally got to take it out for a nice dry drive today, got home and remembered about the wet passenger floor post I had read about earlier. I crossed my fingers and put my hand under the floor mat and guess what.......the carpeting and padding is soaking wet.
I only have like 30miles on this car.
I don't want the dealer ripping my car apart and damaging the interior and paint. I tried to leave a message for the dealer to tell them I want my damn trade in back, but their phone system is out because of the storms.
WTF? Ford still hasn't fixed this issue? I don't want the dealer tearing my brand new car apart. I called my salesman on his cell and started freaking out, he is supposed to call me first thing in the morning. I can't afford to take off work to bring the car in for service and sure as hell can't be without a car while they are fixing it.
This is the most money I have ever spent on a new car and have this problem on day one? I am sick to my stomach andsooooooo pissed.

Saw a guy at the Ford dealer last week with an O7 and it was leaking on both sides. What a mess. My 07 sits outside because my more valuable cars are in the garage, no bad leaks yet except for the door sill.

 

Where is the leak coming from??? This is the first I heard of this. That is all messed up. Brand new car and already have to deal with the B.S! I would be all up in that managers grill telling him off.

 

Damn that sucks. That really sucks. I feel for ya man. Ford should do the right thing and get you a new car.

That's crazy, i've had more than one s197 and never had a leak problem. Where exactly is the water coming from? My 08 hasn't seen rain yet but the older one saw a ton when it was at work. I've never noticed a leak. Is it possible the door wasn't completely closed with window locked all the way up? I know when they are really new the doors need a little extra force to close.

 

my 08 leaks through the driver window. but that usually only happens after a wash and then a right turn. it just starts dripping down and goes right into my upper speaker. it's REAL weak. cuz i'll be driving and suddenly, feel drips of water on my leg and i'm what the hell?

 

My 2008 does not leak.

 

My 08 was leaking the day I bought it also. It was raining the day I bought my car and i noticed the next morning I had water droplets on the inside of my window and thought it was strange seeing not just fog orcondensation but large water drops hanging down. I searched on the forum and checked my passenger floor board...sure enough it was wet.
