I think you'll be fine with the stock mount given what you plan to be doing with your vehicle. It may squeeze together as was mentioned, but it wasn't designed for strength there. A formed part like that is actual much stronger then it appears. However, the design is quite specific to it's purpose. If you would feel better with a big chunk of metal get the BMR piece. It is stronger..... is it necessary...... probably not.

If I did the mount, then yes the fuel tank must drop. Much tougher.
I drove my car until the fuel light came on. No gas in tank = very light tank = easy install.

thanks for all the additional advice fellas - i think i'll end up just getting the uca for now. if, at some glorious time in the future, i am actually able to afford a f/i application, maybe i'll get the mount at that time. it won't be so bad to reinstall once a year or so have passed.

I'd just go ahead and get the mount now, on Lethalperformance they have the steeda UCA KIT that has the mounting bracket too all for $279.99. I say just go ahead and do it now because you'll have to pay labor AGAIN to install something that could have been taken careof at once. What it really comes down to is, are you wanting to just do it now and can't wait, or are you willing to wait and take care of ALL problems at once? I say just get another $100 in time and then do the steeda UCA Kit so everything is covered.....2 birds with one stoneJMO

yup, i think i'm goin with the bmr as well. piggy, any squeaking or anything with the bmr uca?
nope squeaking at all. I greased all my suspension parts after install...500 miles later I greased them again, then I'll grease them once every oil change. You can probably get away with every other oil change though
