I use Extended service Mobil 1 and will change at 15,000. I also have an extended life oil filter and but will change that at 7,500.

I have been using Mobil 1 for years. I make complete change every 10-12K.With 150K+ miles at trade time, mpg is still the same when bought new. I would have no problem going 15K if had to from what I've read about synthetic test results. There is synthetic testing on the internet with test/rating results to give one more insite.

Remember that synthetic oil may technically "Last longer",But the filter capacity is the same,And it can only hold so much before it leans on the bypass valve too much and sends unfiltered oil throughout your motor more than at cold start ups.Just a thought.

This is good news. My car is three years old and has 12,500 original miles. I was changing the synthetic every 6 months. Now I'll change it once a year.

thanks guys for all the help mobil 1 isn't cheap so I'm glad I don't have to replace it every three months! I pretty much figured that to be true but it's just nice toget confirmation from everyone...

Point taken. Reading on Sytheticsif you plan to use the same oil for 25,000 miles, change the filter at 10 or 15K max. Amsoil has advertised that since 1974. Had a friend in the 80's that ran synthetic and changed filter every 6K and the full change at 25K. Might want to keep the oil topped off too.

I use Mobil 1 also.
I would change it every 3K or 6 months.
I would not go over 6K on a filter.
