Reset the computer by disconnecting the positive battery terminal for 15 minutes. Then drive the car and get on it (up to speed limit as fast as you can) and the car will relearn the way you drive for awhile until you get a CAI/tune to get rid of some of that throttle lag and make sure you turn of T/C!!!!!!!! Every time you get in just turn it off! Make it a habit and it should help. Do a search about "Throttle lag" and I am sure many helpful threads wil appear to help your cars computer run like they did back in the day when computers didnt control every aspect of the motor and its functions! Damn drive by wire system! J

I just bought an 08 gt 5 speed. It has throttle lag really bad. It wont do any burn outs even when traction control is off? What do I need to wake this thing up? My 93 will burn out all day long even when I am not even trying. I am very disapointed in my08. Please Help.

My baby can do one wheel burnouts and smoke em I believe that until you get rid of the live rear axle, you're gonna be doing one leg burnouts no matter what...

if you can't do a burnout with the TCS off then: [&:]

1.You either can't drive (sorry not tryin to be mean lol) or don't know how to do a burnout.
2. You really bought an 08 v6Mustang with GT symbols
3. Your car is just effed up
Burnouts arn't too difficult with a stock V6 either. After a tune it's cake.

Yeah, something doesn't sound right. I know about the throttle lag. Before the tune, I'd be behind someone in the middle lane, go into the left to pass, floor it, and the car would "think" about it for a second, then downshift (auto trans.) go full blast! That sucked! From what I've heard, its an engineered "anti torque loading" or some crap like that. Like soft starting an elec. motor I guess. Who knows. You should be able to do a burnout stock, though...

lol can't do a burnout? You can do burnouts in any manual car with over 90hp. Rev it up to 5000 and let the clutch out fast if you still can't do a burnout return the car to the dealer and buy a prius.

JLT CAI + BAMA 91/93 Race Tune plus FRPP 4.10 gears and you have a new car. Do that for a year and when that gets a bit stale go for the S/C

Yeah but after getting the s/c won't he want to get rid of the 4.10s?

throttle lag will have 0% to do with a burn out since your going to be holding it at a higher rpm anyways. May take a half second longer for them to climb, but ur not gonna release the clutch till there up there anyways. Im going with option #1 for you, again no insult but you either dont know how to do one (which is pretty much impossible in these cars) or havent learned how to drive your car yet.

It would be 1 thing if it was an auto, Id say you have to minorly think about it then, but if your in a manual, and im not saying this is the best way to do this, but try this simple test. Get in, turn off T/C,put it in 1st, Hold the RPMS at about 2800 and let that clutch out fairly fast. If you dont lose traction then you either have slicks on the car or something else not normal on a fairly stock GT.
