JLT CAI arrived
Putting the CAI on now will be fine, huh? Well then, off to home depot for some hosing to keep the filter separate from the heat below it and then I will go home and slap it on.
Without a tune will there be any gains?

Your tune won't need to be tweeked that much for the CAI. As a matter of fact, if you slapped the CAI on right now, you should be fine. The new mustangs tune is set pretty conservative from ford. Often times, without doing anything else, if you add a CAi, it will make your stock tune 'more correct'. You could get away with putting on the CAI now with no issues.

FYI - I put on the Steeda CAI and without a tune for the CAI I was getting a check engine light saying that she was running too lean. You can overcome this by setting the WOT mixture richer 1%. I have a Predator so I am able to tweak the tune very easily.
Same here. I put the MMR CAI on mine and was getting a CEL and it was running bad. That was prior to ordering the Preditor and I have sense traded the MMR in on a Steeda CAI because I could not find anyone that had a tune for the MMR, and it actually came out cheaper for me to buy the Steeda than it would have been to go to someplace that had a dyno and them tune it.
Yea, I think I remember seeing that on their web site, it was like $75 or so for the tune, which put it about the price of the bit two ( C&L and Steeda ) which Diablo supplies custom tunes for.
Just an FYI, on Diablo's website (www.diablosport.com) they also provide some free downloads. I know they have a Steeda CAI tune plus one other that I can't rember now. You can download them for free if you have a Predator.

If you run 93+ octane gas, with the CAI you shouldn't be too lean on a stock tune. If you have a tuner and have already 'tweeked' the stock tune, I could see how it might be a little lean. But with the pristine stock tune, adding the CAI shouldn't cause a lean condition. GFoos, I say go ahead and put it on and see what happens. I could see how on regular unleaded it might get a little lean.
I don't have the tuner yet as I am awaiting a call on the tune I want on it. BTW, can I upload the tune from JLT onto the xcal or do I have to do something different?
I thought about the CAI or MMR or Steeda Cold Air intakes..
But I have decided THIS is what I want!

I'll have my dealer install so programming is their problem.
