I went to my Ford dealer where I bought my car in to get an oil change (putting on flame suit), and it was a 15k mile service. I noticed on the itemized list. "Install Granitize Service Kit". I asked the service mgr, he said, "Oh, its just an oil additive we use". Now I'm wondering, is this Ford policy, or is it a dealer thing? I'm not into additives, and all that crap, especially on a new car, it annoyed me, but whats done is done.

BTW Same mgr that said my car didn't come with a cabin air filter!!! (Am I wrong or do ALL S197's have the cabin air filter, I have an '06 GT)

Granitize is an oil additive ... I'm guessing a dealer thing.

Whoa no cabin air filters? That sounds crazy... pretty sure all cars got one right? But now I'm unsure...

(I mean, Ford isn't THAT broke that they're trying to skimp out on air filters are they?)

yes we have cabin filters... BUT dealers like to charge you up the rear for replacement for such a simple task...

Just one more reason to service your own car. Your service manager is a tool, yes we have cabin air filters (easy to replace) and they can be had for under 20 bucks.
