RE: dip stick
I'm guessing you mean how do you remove the handle from the dipstick. There is a small pin near the bottom of the yellow handle that you pop out. Use a small awl or a little nail/hammer and tap it out.

RE: dip stick
I truly hate to sound like a dick with my answer, but IF this is a serious question (and I'm thinking it's not based on the fact that you have been here long enough to post 392 times!), then my answer would have to be that you have no business owning a car if you seriously don't know how to remove a dipstick! If you ARE serious, then I gotta wonder what your real motive is for asking. Are you SEEKING smarta$$ answers? Well, if you really don't know, then uhhhhh....you joined in May '07....so who's been checking and/or changing your oil throughout the past year? If it's Dad or Uncle or neighbor Jim, then why haven't they shown you? If you're taking it to a dealership or a place like JiffyLube, then why haven't you learned from them yet?
I'm sorry. I know that's a pretty sh!tty response, but come on.... OIL is the most important thing about your car, and if it's taken you a year since joining this forum to try to figure out how to check it, then you should be riding a bike or a bus or driving a 1975 Dodge.
