Speaking only for myself, so don't take this as an indictment of your opinion, which is valid.

I recently put on this dead pedal along with the GT500 pedals and couldn't be happier.
The bolt that this dead pedal attaches to was a little bit of a pain to get to, but that's not CDC's fault.
As far as the shortness, I think a longer one would be more functional but wouldn't look as good.
The long ones I've seen don't appeal to me.
But as far as this one goes, it's fully functional for me, as my heal is on the mat while my toes are on the pedal. Of course, I walk with my toes pointed outward so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
Even if that weren't the case, I'd still take this over nothing, but can understand while your opinion would be different.

Yeah, I just put mine in yesterday. And while I agree the dead pedal could have been made a bit larger, the bigger dead pedals I have seen are either attached via screwing through the carpet, or just plain butt ugly. Glad to see I was not the only one that found the bolt a bit of a pain....I also wanted to have the complete set, so this was the option for me. I am a bit surprised the OP's did not sit flush down against the carpet, as mine certainly did.

As did mine.

BTW Mike, sorry I didn't get back to you on your question.
My initial response was "I don't know", but I was looking on the 'net, and in my Haynes to see if I could get a better answer for you.

This one wasn't out when I got mine off Ebay (Steeda I think.) It attached the same way, using the bolt behind the kick panel and a bracket. You have to drill the bracket for the dead pedal. It came with nuts but I tapped it and cut the bolts shorter. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't match the GT500 pedals but it provides a better grip surface. I put the GT500 pedals on after I saw them come standard on a friend of mine's '07 V6, which I still can't figure out why she had them.

No worries. Yeah, I have searched around to no avail. If you find out, just shoot me a note....

Thx,
Mike

I installed the CDC dead pedal and couldn't be happier with it. It installed easy enough, is solid as a rock, matches my aluminum pedals perfectly and fits my foot just fine. Sorry you didn't like yours but I highly recommend them.

My car came with a ruber dead pedal I'm pretty sure, I'll doubble check later, but I'm pretty sure it commes with one.
