i currently have a o/r h pipe and two days ago i had to pull my canned tune diablo out of the car to help a friend and my cel light never came on after i put the stock tune back. just wondering if this is a coomon thing with some cars or what.

on a side note who ever said canned tunes dont make a difference is wrong, i forgot just how horrible throttle response was before[:'(][:'(]

It took a few days for my cel to first come on after my o/r h install. the computer will eventually cycle and catch it.

The CEL will only trigger on about 80% of 1996+ vehicles. My roomate has an o/r X on his 05 and never got a CEL.

It will catch it eventually......i went 100 miles before it came on for me.

You already have the tuner, upgrade that canned Diablosport tune and get the o2 sensors turned off.

A Bamachips Race tune would be a big improvement. Canned tunes do make a difference, I had the Diablosport tune too. But even a mail order custom tune is alot better than any canned tune.

Not true. My buddy has driven his car for 10,000 miles and no CEL. This is not an isolateed case either. I know a couple other guys with the older body style who also have no light. While it is rare, some cars don't trip the CEL with a o/r midpipe for whatever reason.

lol thats the thing i had to take the diablo out and wont have another tune back in it for a while. this just struck me as odd that it didnt come on

Tune noob here, what is a tune, how do I get it, is it worth it to do with an axleback exhaust and no plans to do anything else to the car?
