Default Remote Trunk Wiring?

I recently purchased a Viper 5900 Remote Start/Keyless Entry system for my car and they got everything hooked up except for the trunk. They said it was because they didn't have the wiring diagram for the trunk for the 08 Mustangs and they couldn't do it without it. I also noticed that my 08 Mustang doesn't have a trunk release inside the car, the only way to open the trunk is with the Key or with the Remote that came with the car.

Anybody know where this remote is wired to so I can tell the installers where it is so they can hook it up to my transmitter?

Hi

The passenger side kick panel harness. It has a White/pink wire in it. iI you put a momentary switch from it to ground the trunk opens. This wire should continue to the solenoid in the trunk, but I may be wrong.

Regards

Brian

Awesome, thanks. I'm gonna print that out and take it to the jackass at Best Buy and see if they can't get it working. If not, I'll take it to somewhere who has a clue.

The Ford documentation says the wire is white violet but I could not find that wire. I found the wire by tracing it back from the trunk solenoid. It is a thin white wire with a pink stripe (there is a thicker white wire with a pink stripe by the fuse panel also also but I don't know where that one goes). If you ground the thin white wire with the pnk stripe, it will open the trunk.

The wire actually goes between the SJB and the BEC under the hood.
Ian not surewhat "tracing the wire" back to the trunk does for you. []
