I guess my question now is (as stupid as it may sound) ... if I go with the Single Beam HID's ... what happens when I try to turn on my high beams? Do they just not work? I figure w/ 8000K HID's ... I most likely wouldn't need the highs.

... and I'd like to save a little coin.
I'd like to know that too. How often do people need high beams anyway?

I just installed the8000k kit from stangmods today. Its dual beam hid and installation was a breeze. Took me 20minutes. I ordered them yesterday and they arrived this afternoon and thats FREE SHIPPING! They cant be beat. They look great too. I just had the car out and on low beam riding towards on coming traffic no one flashed me. You can see the cut off and its perfect. Flip the high beams on and wow, you can see everything. Should have bought these months ago. You cant go wrong.

I just got my Stangmods HID kit and I would REALLY appreciate any of you that have done
this install to post some pictures. The instructions come with no reference of suggested locations
to install the ballasts. No pictures, photos or wiring diagrams of any kinds to assist you. I got a
couple of brackets and screws that are made no reference of in the instructions.

Sorry, but that is NOT good. Maybe you guys are just more creative than I am, but I think a
good install should come with some of that...

I got some 3k Foglights as well, and those instructions appear to omit a couple of connectors
altogether...

I'm thinking of returning them, assuming they'll be accepted back.

I have the factory bulb covers and installed my HID kit I bought from Retrosolutions.com, which is one of the vendors on this site. The install was simple and painless. The dispersion of the light is perfect. I even had someone drive in front of me to make sure I wasn't blinding them as I was driving down the road. I have tinted headlights so this was a must have mod...overall A+ experience...
I second this. I too have the Retro-Solutions kit, the 35Watt, 6000K BiXenon kit. I too have the factory bulb covers and there is no problem blinding anybody. I couldn't be happier. Pure plug & play and a lifetime warranty. What's not to like?

I just looked at my head lights. I do not have the bulb cover/cut-off shield. Now what?
This bulb here: looks like it has a shield or am I mistaken? Is this what I need?

It looks to me like you are correct. I'd give it a shot. Looks like a shield to me.

For those who already have these kits, did you program your keyless entry not to turn on your lights when you open the car?
