Newsflash - My titanium ceramic coated JBA shorty headers on the truck got spot rust just as fast as the 409 s/s longtubes on the car. And I didn't notice any heat reduction properties either. Granted, I didn't use a thermo or anything on them just noticable heat.

Did they get scratched and then began to rust?

i have OBX headers and run the resonated h-pipe with my pypes mid muffler and it sounds absolutey amazing. not 1 problem with the headers or h-pipe since installing them in august and still look very good even for being stainless and about 8k miles since the install. fit was decent and quality seemed great...highly recomended

wasvette,
i dont have any cats. I opted for the O/R setup because i have a buddy that gets my inspection stickers for me...others are right though, if you do get cats, get the high flow cats with either an H or X pipe. Do some research on here to choose between the two. Low end torque vs high end HP i believe

black05stangGT,
I was not knocking your OBX system in any way, in fact, i wish there were more options to choose from when i got my setup in early 05. JBA was one of the two i believe. I was merely suggesting that he do some research on them before jumping into anything. In many cases in aftermarkets, you do get what you pay for...ie wheels, gears, intakes, tuners, throttle bodies, etc...none are horrible, just some better than others.

No, they didn't get damaged in any way. They spot rusted right through the ceramic finish! I couldn't believe it either. Granted, it took about a year for it to start rusting so it lasted for quite awhile.

Jsierzega - Any observations post-install? I'm guessing it sounded much better? Any SOTP HP increase? Did you remove the motor mounts (is this absolutely necessary?)? Have you installed headers before?
Thanks!
