Default Hood Scoop + spoiler vs. detector mounting

I was mounting my new radar detector the other day and realized that, what with the desire to mount it low on the windshield (at the centerline)to aid in laser detection, the hood scoop forces us to raise the detector at least 4" above the dash. And even there, it looks like from the rearthat the stock spoiler interferes with a good shot from astern. When I raise it higher to just below therear view mirrorit blocks my view and looks obnoxious. What are you guys doing with yours (besides going remote)?

Default RE: Hood Scoop + spoiler vs. detector mounting

I mounted mine on the top of the windshield to the left of the rear view mirror.
