I have had both. It really depends on what you are using it for. Sirius sucks on the D3. XM is fine. Navigation is nice with the Garmin on the 5120. The whole UI is better on the D3.

I have a D3 and I like it .... but .... I would hold off another two months ... Pioneer has some new models coming out that will blow away the current ones .... Go check out avic411.com for more information ... I keep a dedicated 80GB iPod video hooked up to it ... currently has 2500 songs and 10 or so movies ... so the single disc slot in the D3 is a non-issue for me ...

Question: Does either one have it where you can detach the face?

I'm at work atleast 12 hrs a day - and mostly parked outside at night ... so I would certainly need some sort security
other than the alarm w/ the car.

No. Kenwood has a security key, that's about it.

Heard good things about the Pioneer. You should like if you choose it. Personally have an Eclispe AVN-5500. As someone said above it has a pre amp voltage if you going forhigh end audio.
