ORIGINAL: Fred Malibu

The reason I listed a shorted sidewall was because that was my only tire size in a 285 from Sumitomo on American muscle. They are MUCH cheaper than Nitto, and American Muscle mounts them for free.. so I figured why not stick with what I can get.

I have seen the 24mm offset and like it a lot! Can I fit 275/45's all around on 18x9?

I will do that if it will work.

I mentioned clearing my calipers because as a sixer, I have different brakes than you GT folk.

Thus, my 18x8.5 wheels (Bullitts) were so close to touching the calipers you couldn't fit a hair in the gap [&:]

I haven't found many pics for these wheels on our cars, so its hard to gauge what it will look like, but I am gonna see if I can get a chop made for it.

Thanks again for all your responses, I'll keep you all posted!

you mean 275/40 right? if so the bfg tire fitment sheet I have in front of me lists a 9-11 inch rim as acceptable, ditto for the nittos, but like I said putting the same tire on 2 different rim sizes may look funky (if you go 9 in front and 10 in back). It may look more sqwooshed up front and stretched in the back. But I could be wrong. I wouldn't go for a particular size just because its in a cheaper bundle unless you really like that tire brand. It sucks to spend money and be dissapointed.

I really like the rims you picked; here is a picture of my 06. My rims are 17 X 9; I should have gotten the 18's but no one is perfect.

ya, 275/40 all around with 18x9.

I have heard only good things about Sumitomo tires, so I'm not worried.
