Default In Dash DVD install question

i have a kenwood in dash DVD system that was in my escape before i had my mustang. i got two questions

1. how do i install it? do i remove the plastic trim? if so, whats the best way going about this cause i dont wanna break anything.

2. next how do i get the dvd's to play when the ebrake is off. in my escape some dude installed it for us at a body shop and he asked my dad if we wanted this option. being a responsible parent and it was "his car" he said no. but now its mine in full so im puttin it in the mustang.

thanks again everyone

your lucky, you have a kenwood, all you do it ground the e brake wire, you dont need and fancy gizmo's like with the pioneers or alpines, just ground that wire and your good to go.

get a dash kit and a harness off ebay, will be a third the price from circuit city and just as good. to install the radio with a shaker you need a reisitor from radio shack, best thing to do is look up tacobill's DIY,he has lots of good info.your plastic panels just pull off from the front, pull up on the center console where the shifter is and then pull the side piece striagh out, everything just pops back on.

Its better to use a 5V voltage regulator than a resistor.
The purpose of the voltage regulator is to take the
12V amplifier turn on lead from the Kenwood and make
it 5V for the shaker amps to keep them from popping.
Here is the step by step radio removal instructions.
